Pick the design outage, 24, 48, 96 hours, whatever the operation truly requires, and multiply by the generator's burn rate at realistic load from the manufacturer's data; as a sanity number, diesel gensets run on the order of seven gallons per hour per hundred kilowatts at full load, less at typical partial loads. That arithmetic sizes the tank, and it also exposes the second half of the plan most facilities skip: what happens at hour ninety-seven. The answer is a refueling arrangement that works during events, which is a supplier question, not a tank question, and it belongs in writing before the season, alongside access instructions, tank locations, and after-hours contacts on both sides.
